And Wednesday evenings at 6:30.

We spend 20 minutes each session engaging in language-building activities such as songs, fingerplays, and the shortest of stories. Then we bring out age-appropriate toys and allow time for children and adults to play and socialize.

Check out these new videos talking about this year's Summer Reading program with Betty and our new Children's Library Assistant, Julie Lear.

How Summer Reading Works: Read or listen to at least one book per week. Come into the library each week and write down your name, contact info, and the name of the book you read on an entry form, and give it to a librarian. This earns you one small prize per week, plus enters you in a weekly drawing for extra prizes. Two different times during the summer, the weekly prize will be a brand new paperback book, provided by Central State Bank.

Children reading on their own may enter each time they read a book. Children who listen to books may enter once per week.

For children reading chapter books, you may count each 100 pages as a “book”. For example, if you read Lois Lowry’s book The Giver, with 179 pages, you may fill out one slip for the first 100 pages and one slip for the last 79. This makes the weekly drawing more fair.
