SUMMARY:'Find Your Flow' Healing Arts Presentations - Human Design\, Allison Castle
DESCRIPTION:Allison Castle will present tonight on Human Design. This self-awareness tool\, developed by Ra Uru Hu in 1987\, incorporates Eastern and Western Astrology\, the Chinese I Ching\, Judaic Kabbalah\, Hindu Chakra System\, and Quantum Physics. It is a personalized energy blueprint that provides insights into how we are naturally designed to engage and interact with the world\, giving us permission to really tap into the uniqueness of who we are.  \nDuring her presentation\, she will introduce participants to what Human Design is and the components of the Human Design Chart\, or Bodygraph. \nThis presentation is the first in a series titled “Find Your Flow Healing Arts Presentations\,” in which local practitioners will present on how they became interested in what they do and how their techniques work with the body to heal itself. DESCRIPTION:Veronica Timmons is a Licensed Acupuncturist practicing acupuncture and herbal medicine in Muscatine since 2015. She is a 2011 graduate of Grinnell College and in 2015 earned her Master’s degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Health and Science. Veronica serves as the Iowa Association of Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture’s representative to the American Society of Acupuncturists. While the vast majority of time in her clinic is dedicated to pain management\, she enjoys working with patients on women’s health\, psycho-emotional health and allergy issues.   \nChinese Medicine is a complete healthcare framework with a rich history. Timmons will present on acupuncture as just one facet of the medicine which includes herbal\, diet\, lifestyle and movement therapies. An acupuncturist identifies patterns in the body through palpation\, auscultation\, questioning and observation\, diagnoses the patient\, then frames a treatment plan. Thin\, sterile filaments are inserted at acupoints on the body to direct energy and correct imbalances. Acupuncture can be used to manage a wide array of issues. DESCRIPTION:Becky Schmertman will explain Cranial Sacral Therapy\, a gentle-touch whole-body reset. It works by finding and addressing the restrictions on the spinal cord caused by various traumas. When cerebral spinal fluid flow is restored\, nerves and tissues begin to revitalize and find their intended rhythms. This helps the entire body relax and normalize. \nBecky is a licensed massage therapist and registered yoga Instructor. She’s been doing CranialSacral Therapy for most of her 19 years as a therapist and now takes new clients only for this modality.
