DESCRIPTION:Belly dancing with the amazing Melanie Moore is back by popular demand! Great for all fitness levels\, these classes are designed for all people who have never danced before\, people who have danced but not explored this style\, and for perfection and review of technique for dancers already familiar with American Tribal Style belly dance. Level 1 includes a minimum of one slow and one fast move per class\, and a review of the moves already covered. As classes progress\, we add all the moves together\, learning transitions and combinations. We learn to recognize the cues used for this group improvisational style. We also learn a basic zill (finger cymbals) pattern to accompany Level 1 dancing. Loaner zills are available in class. Each class also includes stretching and strengthening moves. \nThere is no registration required\, just remember to wear comfortable clothing! This program is free and open to the public.

DESCRIPTION:Help us set the record for the most walkers at the Muscatine Mall at the Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department Recreation Extravaganza 2013. \nThe Extravaganza will be held on Saturday\, January 19th at the Muscatine Mall\, beginning at 10:00 am. Experience what recreation opportunities are available for you and your family.  Not-for-profit recreation providers affiliated with the Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department will be on hand to show you what they offer to the community.  Door prizes will be drawn for those who register at the event. \nAt 11:00 am\, join us for a walk around the Muscatine Mall and help us set the record for mall walkers in Muscatine!  Information about the Muscatine Walking Club and the Million Minute Challenge will also be available.  This is a free event for everyone so bring your friends and family!  For more information\, please contact the Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department at 263-0241.  Information is also available online on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/GoodThingsAreHappeningInMuscatineClub.
