Story Time Events

Preschool Storytime

Preschool Storytime helps 2 through 6-year-olds enjoy sitting to listen to stories, sing songs, enjoy puppets, and do activities all geared toward the development of early literacy and group learning. At the end of the 30-minute program, Betty’s basket always has something interesting in it to be discovered!

Preschool Storytime meets on Monday mornings at 10:30 from September to April, directly following the early session of O Baby Lapsit. For our summer schedule, check the Summer Reading page or the event calendar. Please join us for a fun, friendly, literary time!

O Baby Lapsit

O Baby Lapsit, for babies ages birth to three years plus parent or caregiver, focuses on early literacy skills through rhyme, rhythm, fingerplays, and music, all from the security of the parent’s lap. We spend 25 minutes on a structured circletime, read the shortest of stories, then break for approximately 30 minutes of optional social and play time for parents and children.

O Baby Lapsit meets on Monday and Thursday mornings at 9:30, and Wednesday and Saturday mornings at 10:30 through the end of the Summer Reading Program. During the school year, O Baby Lapsit meets at those same times, September through April.

On Mondays and Thursdays, Lapsit meets before the library actually opens. Please come to the east door of the library and staff will let you in to attend. Other library services start at 10 am, as usual.
