- Public Notice for that Ruveon LLC, in the City of Muscatine, Iowa has completed a draft antidegradation alternatives analysis to request utilizing 2 clean-in-place (CIP) chemicals in the reverse osmosis (RO) system at the Ruveon Muscatine site. These chemicals assist in maintaining efficiency of the RO system that supplies water across the site. The wash water containing these cleaning chemicals is discharged into a stream that discharges to the Mississippi River. The Mississippi River is protected for Class A1 primary contact recreational, B(WW-1) warm water, and HH human health benefit.
These documents available for public viewing until October 1, 2026.Anyone wishing to comment on the proposed treatment alternative must do so in writing within 30 days of September 1, 2026. Comments may be submitted to Ruveon LLC by hand delivery or by mail.
